While we didn't discuss politics at Thanksgiving Dinner,

I ate in silence as I watched my 17 year old nephew-in-law proudly wear his red MAGA hat at the table. He's just signed up to join the military at the end of the school year. I'm hoping his infatuation with Trump is a passing youthful fancy.

I can't help myself sometimes. I have made under my breath comments (or outright sarcastic) comments about my niece having her smart phone at special family dinners. After speaking up on three separate occasions I never saw that thing again. I was a teacher and do not mince words with anyone's kid no matter how old they are or what relation they are.

To allow a 17-year-old to wear a baseball cap at a Thanksgiving dinner table...
just trashy
