(5,325 posts).....that some are blaming the guns and others are blaming RW talk radio and others are coming up with their own entities to blame.
Because when something this horrifying happens, people need to find something.......anything.......to blame in an attempt to get it all to make sense somehow. "There has to be a reason, and I have to know what it is". Somehow, if we can find something or someone to make responsible, it becomes less scary.
Yet, most really know that we don't know at all what was behind this tragic thing. It's just too soon.

(13,669 posts)something to blame, they think they can find a way to not have it happen again. When the reality is we cannot stop this kind of thing with laws or bans or censorship.
That is a terrible and terrifying truth. And it's too uncomfortable for most people to accept. So we look for a scape goat, or something that we can blame or change which gives us the illusion of safety and control.
