Not Martin, Ed, Rachel, tweety, and probably not Lawrence. Has it been this way all week?

(17,063 posts)I was willing to cut them some slack, but this is really getting ridiculous and makes them look second rate.

(17,063 posts)I think I'll switch to Current. I've been doing that on Fridays as a kind of protest anyway.

(130,964 posts)Lawrence never on Fridays.
Ed's been out due to serious med tests for his wife.
I assume Martin's on regular/planned vacation.
Tweety?
Rachel?
OK, Aurora Police news conference NOW.

(269,050 posts)Tamron was also missing - off to the Olympics. Ed's wife is not well - I read that she's undergoing some serious tests.

(17,086 posts)When Ed went out due to a family emergency they had to shift to cover for him, too, so they are short handed. Rachel had a scheduled day off today. It's summer, the beginning of the weekend, and a Presidential campaign year. They will be busy next month with the conventions. Rachel probably left town already. I don't begrudge them missing a busy news day, given it was due to an isolated and unplanned event that has already been (mostly) resolved.

(31,706 posts)Martin Bashir is definitely headed there. Ed's tending to his wife's illness (someone posted about that the other day). This is also the summer...slow time of the year to grab an extra day here or there considering how hectic things will be from the convention on to election night (and possibly beyond).
Being that the news is consumed by the Colorado story this is more the responsibilities of the network's news department rather than put their political personalities on there. Rachel...while I enjoy her show immensely, brings little to the coverage of what is a true national disaster. Let her rest up for what are sure to be wild and grinding days ahead...
