AMC Theaters ups security measures - no costumes, consults HOMELAND SECURITY...

Banning fake weapons won't keep the real ones out of the theater.
There are state statues that allow people to carry them and those aren't going anywhere. The NRA will see to that.
This shooter was not wearing a "costume", he didn't buy a ticket and reports say he didn't even come through the front door.
So what effect will these new security features have?
None at all if someone wants to do this again.
Here's the difference between America and the rest of the world.
When a terrorist shoots people or blows up a nightclub, movie theater or building in Europe, Africa or Asia, they just go on with their lives knowing crazy people do crazy things.
We Americans always move to protect ourselves from the random crazy danger by changing the way we live.
Ask any shoeless person going through an airport security gate.
We give in to fear and that's wrong.
Now, some nerd can't wear a Batman suit to see a movie.
This terrorist just won.

they don't have to allow them...I worked at a private business and they totally banned weapons and it had to be honored because it was private property...permit or not.

and that he was not in costume then, but went out the back exit, propped it up, and returned in full regalia with his weapons, apparently.

He parked his car by the exit, went in the front door with the rest of the patrons, out the exit, suited up and came back in.

There was no "breaking down the door." He just walked in.

An alarm on those doors that sounds, loudly, while the film is running might help.

suited up at his car, just outside the door, and came back in. Am I mistaken in that understanding?

Maybe the exit doors need to sound an annoying alarm if they are not fully latched while the film is running?

If someone had reached over and pulled that door fully shut when that guy went out, this story may have had a different ending.
