(62,448 posts)There seems to be a core of @35% that is Republican no matter who or what.
I sort of base that on W and Cheney's polling at the end, nothing scientific.
Although I know Cheney dove much lower at the end, and W took a bit of a dive due to the economy.
Were the stock market to take a crap which I think we can expect, those true believers who think Republicans are stock market wizards will be jumping off the boat real fast. That seems to be @ 10%.

(5,813 posts)that is driving him. Or more likely if it is BOTH. One feeds off of the other.
All I know is the crazy train leading the disaster needs to be stopped. From everything I have read and learned about this administration, it is 100 % corrupt and hell bent on destroying the United States. The other thing that is becoming crystal clear as time goes on is that the very people who can save us from this administration, namely our Congress, are in it up to their necks. The same thing that is going to bring tRump down will bring many of them down with him.
What remedies are there when the normal mechanisms for dealing with a corrupt executive branch have been tainted by the same corruption? We, the people, are being shafted by tRump and no one seems able to bring him to account.

We have to get Democrats elected next year, and then the real goal becomes 2020.

(5,813 posts)I would make a silly remark about storming DC on our walkers and canes. We old people can get mighty riled up when you start messing around with our income and our health care. Say one word about cutting Social Security or doing away with our Medicare and you might see some of us develop a spine (even if it does have arthritis Spurs and bulging disks!) I remember when Paul Ryan was runnning with Romney he tried to come to Florida with his happy chappy self with mama in tow. His rhetoric about not doing ANYTHING that would hurt his sainted mama went over like a lead balloon. That BS evaporated under the Florida sun.
If Ryan thinks weve forgotten his true agenda and Ayn Rand mentality, he can think again. We may be old but our memory and self preservation streak thrives. If he comes back down here talking that sh*t again, we might just run him out of town with our walkers and canes as weapons.
