The older generation is gold. I'm a Jonser, right on the tail end of the Boomers, but somehow those of us born in 63-64 are not considered true Boomers. My generation - with the exception of those from the '60's counterculture who didn't sell out, and many DUers, and of course, the like scattered sparsely around the country, absolutely sucks, if Facebook is anything to go by. I swear to god, most of my schoolmates and friends from way back are asshole right wingers who think Obama is going to be the next Hitler. It's very disheartening. That is why this post is so refreshing.

how many free spirits we hung out with in the seventies have become
RW nutjobs. Every so often one of these people we have lost touch with
over the years gets in touch and it never fails after exchanging family
pictures, updates and so forth the emails begin to reveal their current
political mindset. The only consistant factor seems to be the location
where they settled down. All are in Red States.
