was much different than the right made it out to be. Anita Hill only gave that information to the FBI for their vetting process. She expected it to go to the committee and no farther. I think it was just as likely it was leaked by the republicans. Some of them had other preferences.

I believed Hill because she was describing exactly the behavior of other creeps I had been around. Pretty common behavior really. It was always wrong and stupid, but so many men didn't even realize that years ago. For those on the other side blindly defending him, saying a man of his status and character would never do such things, total bullshit! They couldn't know.

We had a situation where the county here got sued by women Sheriff department employees. Hostile work environment, around 1990 I think. The women at the jail had their schedule assigning them to clean bathrooms and make coffee and stuff like that and the guys didn't have to. Also crude behavior, jokes, bulletin board posts, the usual. They complained to the old boy Sheriff that was already past retirement age. He ignored them. I played football with one of the guys that was one of the offenders. He was an otherwise good guy, but when I heard that, I knew it was probably true.

One of the days in court, the picture of the Sheriff and the caption said it all. Him with his hands up in the air saying, "I couldn't win!" That said it all, exactly the problem and they won their case. It wasn't about him keeping his guys happy, making it go away and winning. It was already past time that guys like that wised up. He could have met with all the guys, told them he was making changes, chewed a little ass, and fixed the problem. But no, we had to get sued and pay a chunk of money out and have him forced to fix things! He didn't run again.
