Reaction to Al Franken demands consistency from Progressives, my take

I was very disappointed when the news broke about Al Franken unwanted kiss and groping of newscaster Leeann Tweeden. As of this post, comparing Al Franken's incident with Roy Moore's pedophilia is a false equivalency. The event demands that Progressives are consistent in their admonition of the behavior for two specific reasons.

Asking Progressives to be 'consistent' is like trying to herd cats, however.

I do not.
I believe she looked at this picture, (he is NOT touching her) and it made her angry and she is a partisan, she thought I can MILK this situation and perhaps take out a Liberal democrat senator.
He apologizes to her for feeling affronted by the awkward fumbling stupidity.
He apologizes to the USO troop as well,
I presume he did not sexually victimize any of them, he apologized because it was the right
thing to do.
So a raging liberal is going to put his career and reputation into the greedy little hands of a
right wing hack ?
No sorry, this is a right wing Roger Stone hit job.
A he said she said to try to remove
an annoying liberal from the Senate.
Then maggot ices the cake last night about where Frankens hands were in other pictures.

It has been mentioned that this girl (Playboy model) was hired to do a sexy skit to entertain the troops. Franken was hired as a comedian. The whole mood was of excitement putting on a USO show. People have come forward saying that it was chaotic backstage and that none of the entertainers were alone while on base, and Al Franken initially claimed he remembers the skit differently, but apologized anyway--in case anything he did caused Tweeden to feel uncomfortable in any way. We also know the groping never happened because the picture indicates a clowning Franken gesturing a grope, not actually touching her--at least a cameraman was witness, and others were likely present as well.
Looking back Franken admits the clowning around was regrettable. We have changed what we consider to be suitable humor and what is sexist over the last few years and Franken has done plenty to support women's issues and rights. I believe his apology was sincere and Tweedon accepted it.
What we need is an investigation, and not let people like Roger Stone off the hook. Democrats know this and have been calling for one.

But sexy stuff was part of the gag. That is why she was hired and she would have been briefed on the job before she took it.

FYI we need to get rid of this one size fits all mentality when it comes to sexual harassment/assault accusers. It is a recipe for disaster. We need to look at the facts.

I agree with Franken and other Democrats calling for an ethics investigation.
