Conservatives' defense of Trump: "He said they 'let you'"

I keep hearing this, repeated ad nauseum (even Dave Chapelle was spewing this nonsense when he was dismissing Trump's crimes.)

Don't forget the key part of the supposed "locker room talk," in which he discussed actual acts, which gets overlooked in the pussygrab bit:

"Trump: Yeah, that’s her. With the gold. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything."

Admitting to forced kissing - sound like something in the news today?

Sure he qualifies the pussygrab, with the "they let you" bit, but, by that point, he'd already admitted he crosses the line into assault without a damn for consent.

And, let's be clear. Trump's idea of "they let you" is probably any situation where the woman doesn't deck him.
If they're frozen by fear, or too scared to say anything in opposition, he assumed it was all fine and dandy.

It's high time for this tape to be revisited. We keep hearing about the changes in a post-Weinstein world. They mean nothing, as long as this still goes un answered.

A renewed media grilling and ethics investigation by lawmakers must be demanded.
