Al Franken

I wrote to him today. As a child of the 70s, a watcher of SNL in the 70s, a 61 year old grandmother of 3 granddaughters, I wrote to him to say this is BS! Think about it. The most horrible tax plan is about to be passed. And if they can get rid of just one democrat vote it's worth it to them to spread this crap. Not that one democrat vote would even matter, but this is how low they would go. Al Franken tells all in his books, confesses to his 1979 "wild time sins", he is a comedian, he rehearsed this "act" with that lady, and she performed it anyway in front of our troops. I call BS!

Al Franken did not molest children nor did he walk in on teenagers in a beauty contest. Or grab women by their pussies. Republicans are reaching in this one.

I cannot wait until the dems finally have the upper hand in 2018. This is nothing but a BS act of one dumbass lady.

Donald Trump and Roy Moore, on the other hand, are the problem.

because this is neither left nor right, Democratic or Republican, rich or poor, black or white, but a culture of male entitlement to comment upon, demean us for, use at will, make joke fodder of, restrict, regulate, shame, and attack female bodies. This dramatic rebalancing of power between the sexes needs to be understood by all.

when we characterize a woman who speaks up as "a dumbass lady."

The sickness of male entitlement and violence has to be torn out by the root, and it *will* touch both sides, mildly as in the case of Franken or severely as in the case of Moore.

I've never called her a "dumbass lady". I have accused her of being part of a political hit job. you might think every member of the right wing trump slimesphere tweeting about the incident before it was reported isn't that big of a deal but I do, and so do many others. It's called street smarts.

And for the record, I don't believe a fucking word of her story beyond the explanation of what Franken has provided. Not one word. Got a problem with that? Do. Not. Care.

And the fact the Democrats throw women under the bus at every opportunity is a major part of our credibility problem. Don't like hearing that? Do no care.

Or are looking for a gratuitous way to bash dems. Dozens of dem senators called the incident disturbing and called for a full inquiry. But hey keep carrying the false equivalency meme for the GOP. How very brave of you.

because what I've seen is hearsay at best and a lie at worst since it's apparently NOT "THE photographer."

And I've not heard of another witnerss.

But even if he didn't grope her, even he admitted the photo AND "the joke" are inappropriate AND offensive. And they are.

Because of that photo. She was unaware until she found the photo on a photo CD, apparently as part of a prank.

With or without video, her statement is demonstrably false.

Without video, YOU might have been groping her.

McConnell called for an ethics investigation today into Menendez over his mistrial.

Sounds like an elaborate plan to get Dem senators to resign so they can push the Senate tax bill through.

Or are Democrats so busy taking the high road that the entire store’s being looted by the Repugs?

We’re now up against Russia. Think of that — Republicans not only have “state media” (Fox, Breitbart, et al), they’ve got an entire hostile foreign power giving them a boost.

It’s completely insane.
