The NRA Game Plan is always the same:

So here is what I have seen..watched it many times..please add one way or another to this point of view..

1. After a shooting and killing of innocents, there is quiet for several days. (pray for the victims)
2. Then, the very strongest supporters of the 2nd Amendment, elected officials, come out with statements that
a. the 2nd Amendment protects gun ownership
b. if there were guns around, held by the victims, it could have been prevented.
c. Cities and states with strong gun laws have more violence than places with lesser laws.

3. Very important in the media, both sides of the issue must be presented, with strong representation from both sides, it is a 2 sided issue/

4. At least 3/4 days after the event. yes there is still discussion, but then the NRA comes out with its defense

5. NRA is not the first, because others have taken on the fight before, but the NRA comes out a bit later with strong defense, especially pointing to the two sided issue, (3) and that gun laws have never stopped this kind of violence before, 2c. and of course 2a...2nd Amendment.

6. Then as we have seen in the past, the NRA does everything possible to prevent legislation from being introduced, and if it is indeed introduced, killed in specific committees. This way, no final vote needs to be taken where supporters are on record for strong gun ownership.

7. Everything possible...means whatever you can imagine to prevent legislation .... from large donations to people running for office, to donations to people in office that are not running, to holding parties for supporters, to providing help in other ways to supporters...to do everything to influence the outcome of committee hearings and votes....Ads, speeches, whatever..

8. A lot of this is done very silently so only supporters are affected. Still, the results are very clear...no strong or even.... weak legislation gets out of committee for a full vote of the House or the Senate.

4. Worse..certainly the NRA could go along with some laws which would restrict guns.

But there stance is totally "NO" to any reasonable legislation
.I don't how the NRA got it legal to buy machine guns that were once outlawed ..but the NRA got it...Therefore, the NRA is pro active to reduce laws that protect..

When federal laws were put in place to prevent civilians from purchasing new firearms.

With the cutoff of supply the existing automatic firearms became highly coveted and expensive.

In comparison to the Brady Campaign, Moms Demand Action, and Bloomberg's group, it's as if anti-gun groups don't even exist.
