"Uncle Roy"?

"I hid some candy bars in my pockets girls! See if you can find them!" Who knew that skit would become relevant again.

I've read that the WH wants Jeff Sessions to resign as AG and take up his old seat. Personally I hope ol' possum keeps floundering as AG.

if Sessions reverts to the Senate, Trump can appoint an AG that will fire Mueller.

If Moore withdrew or the Republicans pulled his nomination, his name would remain on the ballot, but any votes for him would not count. The idea is that they could get enough of the Republicans to vote for Sessions, who was popular in Alabama, that he would get more votes as a write in than Jones as the Democrat on the ballot.

It is interesting as any ballot already cast early for Moore would not count, nor would any from people who had their heads in the ground and did not know the Republican on the ballot was no longer in the running, or any Moore protest votes. I do not know ALabama at all -- and have no idea if there would be a significant number of conservatives who still vote for Moore.

What is interesting is that Sessions himself has all the new baggage of lying to Congress about his contacts with the Russians -- not to mention, his contacts with the Russians themselves and the fact that he clearly covered for the Trump campaign. Not to mention, because he was gone, he returns - not as a senior Senator, who could chair a committee, but as the most junior Senator. (I think this is true - it was when Lautenberg did the Democrats a huge favor and ran and returned.) Consider that he gives up being the ATtorney General to become the junior most Senator in a closely divided Senate. AG was as big a job as he will ever get a chance to have. I do not see him doing it voluntarily - and risks this plowing up in his face if he tries it.

What I wonder is whether if the Democrats gain the majority in 2018 or more likely 2020, could he be censored for lying to Congress?

Plenty of Alabamans will say that's not in the Bible and they would be right.

"You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

—?Exodus 20:17"

I suppose children could be thought of as property. And then there's this:

"And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? ... Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

Numbers 31:1-18"

but I realize that Alabama is part of the Bible belt and as such, many residents would take more offense at an erroneous Bible quote than they would at a sexual predator. I think the money for the billboard would be better spent on GOTV efforts.

It is doctrine for all Christians that Jesus was a virgin birth. Catholics go further and believe Mary ascended into heaven a virgin. Yet the comparison was made by a Moore supporter!

At best, Joseph was his stepfather and to assume Joseph was an adult when he married Mary is ludicrous. Sons learned their trade from their fathers. There were no formal schools. Young people became marriage material once they reached sexual maturity; girls at around 14 and boys at around 16.

Also, Moore's brother compared the accusations against Roy to Jesus' persecution. Sorry dude, but NOTHING in little Roy's life compares to crucifixion.
