According to Republican's and other Far Right Idiots, The Answer is simple.
Barack Obama, George Soros, Gloria Allred and of course Bernard S. The leaders of The United States of Communism.
I'm just so fucking sick of the way the Right has defined anyone who might favor Progressive Concepts as Communist..
Please feel free to list your favorite Communist as well..

(2,679 posts)This fantasy world contains hippies, all types a few white ones, lots of brown ones, too many black ones, zillions of semi-tan ones, short ones, tall ones.
Their feet stink! Bad!
Their music is loud. And it sucks!
They are all anarchist as they bomb things, mostly trees and whaling ships.
They don't work as they live off the government tit or something.
They are godless heathens who convert blacks to become muslims and give them guns.
They force everyone to be gay and preform abortions on every street corner for free.
Oh and they do drugs.
And protest.
Love unions.
Basically they embrace all socialist programs, like heath care for everyone including poor people.
And the most evil thing about the left, they believe in science.
I think that's what they think the extreme far left is.
So far, I have yet to see the far extreme left.

(10,721 posts)Numerous DU posters make comments dismissive of a "far left" without defining what constitutes far left.

There might be tiny minority of pseudo Marxists running around but they're representative of no one and are clearly not supported by any Democrats.

I support "it" entirely.

(30,481 posts)the far left in the US. There are individuals but they are far and few between.
On the scale of American politics, seeing that is the only real way to define such and ambiguous metric, I support the far left.
No need to talk about what Republican think on the matter.
"Barack Obama, George Soros, Gloria Allred and of course Bernard S. The leaders of The United States of Communism. "
If you were going to there are only three individuals that make their list. Obama, Clinton, and Soros. The rest they just use to highlight what they deem to be absurdities.
The platform Clinton ran on for President is clearly far left on the political spectrum of US politics. We are the left. Put the word "far" in front of it and it will still be accurate. Unnecessary but accurate.

For a certain segment of the GOP it's always been their go-to smear: Democrats are soft on crime, soft on Communism, insufficiently supportive of the military, and unpatriotic. Then Gingrich came along and taught them how to twist words in the best fashion of Goebbels. I watched over years as "Liberal" went from being a fairly neutral descriptor to a dirty word by the time Dubya got into office.
It did not happen all at once, but now a good man like Steve Schmidt talks about "the moral rot at the core of the Republican Party," and it is true. The Republican Party of small-town bankers and Dwight Eisenhower is in ruins -- and inasmuch as the country needs two healthy political parties to function, it is bad for us all on every level.
Resist.

(15,650 posts)equal rights for all people, fair and just economic policies, freedom of and from religion, a government that puts the peoples' welfare above corporate profit gained at the expense of the peoples' overall welfare, defense that is in fact defense and not imperialism for the sake of corporate profit, one person one vote, and a few other fundamental things then ... yeah, I sport and am "far left" even though I was moderate (and still am) 40 years ago or so.
Hell, why don't we just adopt the label "democratic socialist" and be done with it. We get called that anyway. We should just go ahead and stand proud of who we are as a whole in my view.

(1,290 posts)I like a lot of communists...Angela Davis, Woody Guthrie, Fred Hampton, and plenty more. I guess you could say that I too am a communist, because am a Marxist and believe the ideas outlined in The Communist Manifesto are good.
