by Ken Meyer | 7:50 am, November 14th, 2017
ABC legal analyst and Mediaite founder Dan Abrams says that Jeff Sessions seems to be breaking his promise to the senate by leaving the door open for a special counsel investigation against Hillary Clinton.
Abrams spoke today with George Stephanopoulos, who noted the recent reports saying that the Attorney General has asked Justice Department prosecutors to decide whether to investigate the Clinton Foundation and 2010 Uranium One deal. Abrams said that by doing this, Sessions is contradicting the promise he made before the Senate Judiciary Committee to recuse himself from any investigative matters involving the Clintons.
I think this is a direct violation of what he promised the Senate he wouldnt do, said Abrams. This is about the Clinton Foundation. So this seems to me that he cannot both keep his promise to the Senate and be involved in this in any way.
Abrams was also on to talk about the latest accusations against Roy Moore as well as the revelation that Donald Trump Jr. secretly traded correspondence with WikiLeaks for months. Abrams said that the revelations about the presidents son do not definitely prove a crime of collusion, though the signs that the Trump campaign was acting based on the advice of Wikileaks were troubling.

Any lawyers in DU who can shed some light on this?

(9,426 posts)the most investigated couple on the face of this earth. It is laughable how the gop keeps trying to pin something ANYTHING on them. Two highly intelligent people have caused so much anguish in the corrupt gop. The repubs. think everyone must be as sleazy as they are, so they keep digging and wasting taxpayer money. Hey, Beauregard, investigate how many of your colleagues are spending Russian money, there is plenty to expose there. Start with McConnell, who KNEW in advance who would be the next president, even before the "election" He refused to hold hearings on the well qualified Garland, keeping the position open for his choice.

Parallel investigations are used but not toward citizens no longer in office.
Besides misusing taxpayer monies, this whole project is partisan on its face.
Any court should dismiss it.
