It must have been a girl because rape of females of any age seems to be becoming legal.

Consider a sixteen-year-old girl who's begging the man to have sex with her. There's absolutely no force or compulsion involved. If the legal age of consent in that jurisdiction is seventeen, then a man who has sex with her has committed statutory rape, but not forcible rape.
