were with the Marine Corps (Beaufort, SC, and Cherry Point, NC). Marines are the best of the best! Happy Birthday and Semper Fi, indeed! Thank you for your service, Wounded Bear.

they had switched to a lottery.

Joining up was kind of what folks did if they didn't have plans of college or employment after HS.

3 older brothers went USAF before me. Two served in Nam.
