Sean Hannity Apologizes for Calling Roy Moore Sex 'Consensual'

Fox News host Sean Hannity apologized Thursday night after he appeared to say on his radio show that he believed Senate candidate Roy Moore’s alleged sexual misconduct with a 14-year-old girl was “consensual.” Hannity tweeted, “I apologize when I misspoke and was not totally clear earlier today” before blaming the “lazy media” for taking his words out of context. On his Fox show, Hannity claimed that when he used the word “consensual” during a conversation about Moore on his radio show, he was talking about the 17- and 18-year-old girls, not the one who was 14. He went on to say that he doesn’t “rush to judgement,” unlike his “bratty friends in the media that are overpaid and lazy like fake Jake Tapper,” who called Hannity out on Twitter earlier in the night by saying 14-year-olds cannot legally consent. Tapper later deleted his tweets and said he would take Hannity “at his word” that he was not defending Moore’s alleged illegal behavior.

Soviet propaganda as part of my job in the military.

The behavior of Fox News as a network and Hannity in particular is getting closer and closer to the insanely nonsensical Soviet style of that time. This similarity has accelerated since Trump became president.

Regular Fox viewers are so conditioned to it that they can’t see it. I work with a lot of them and they do not live in the same reality as the rest of us. They will spend time heaping scorn and derision on all the “Democrats” and “Hollywood liberals” who have had their past blow back on them, but Moore gets a shrug and a comment that it it’s just fake news.

Interestingly, back in the 80’s, about one third of ordinary Soviet citizens bought what their government was selling. Trump’s current poll numbers are eerily similar.

A MINOR can't consent! Hannity should be fired. Here's the transcript:

After all, they did kick a few of their executives and even anchors like O'Reilly. I think Fox is clinging to Hannity because he is the one that holds Fox together. He is probably the last big host that still generates ratings.
