He's trying to sound like a soulful leader. But he's not saying anything.

I wonder who wrote his speech.
They are trying for that Reagan reach out and touch the hand of god vibe but failed.

(9,762 posts)struck me that he was saying the only people to be mourned were children that were shot, not the adults...anyone else catch that from him?

(25,253 posts)insincere performance goes to - Mitt Rmoney.
I'm sorry - but he didn't sound sincere as if he really meant any of the words someone else wrote for him to read. Plastic. Robotic. and Out of Touch.

(12,272 posts)He quoted the bible or BOM, Timothy I think. His speech was appropriate and pat and he has delivered it many times before.
It will be comforting, I think to the families and victims and that is what matters now.

(192 posts)he'd be near the top of the list. His movements and speech just aren't human. Maybe we should demand a test to prove he is human since he keeps claiming Obama was born in Kenya.

Posthumous baptizing of the dead is despicable.

(26,219 posts)I had an LDS family member on one side of my family "baptize" the other side of my family by proxy based on family records. Tis a meaningless waste of time to raise more money for the "church". The deceased aren't affected by their spells.

(2,682 posts)I believe the mormon practice of baptizing the dead is nothing more than a demonstration of their institutional lack of respect for anyone who is not mormon. Does not matter whether you believe it makes any difference to the deceased, it is a slap in the face of the living. And yes, I believe their baptism committee is already combing the newspapers for the names and ages of the victims so they can run them through their process.
And I believe the Mittster read his lines quite well; reminds me of Ronald Reagan who also did a good job of reading his lines. Although RR was able to dredge up some display of emotion when he read his lines, a trick MR has not been able to achieve.
