There is lots of attention on Virginia.

I live in TN but grew up in Georgia.

There will be Black mayors in several GA towns for the first time. Cairo is small, Statesboro is home to a university and Norcross is a significant part of suburban Atlanta.

Norcross also happens to be my hometown. I so wish my mother was alive to see this. That lifelong white resident of GA would have been so proud. Makes you want to believe that there really is a Heaven and they can see what is happening.

BTW, I went thru Cario one time and asked a question. "It's per-nounced Kay-row," was the response.

The "y" is silent. Dignitaries are coached to say it when they visit. It is like saying Mary but without the y. Some do say "Murrville" but just to be silly.

Remember it is pronounced Ver-Sails.

Moved to KY for College. Pissed me off at having some hillbilly tell me I was pronouncing Versailles incorrectly. The worst part was there was no use explaining the origins of the name as it would have been like speaking to him in Greek. Or French, in this instance!

I have a friend who grew up in NJ. He married a girl from Atlanta. She schooled him on his attempt to "correct" the pronunciation of the street "Ponce de Leon" in Atlanta. She assured him he would get nowhere.

9 years ago when President Obama was elected was the proudest day of my life. I don't see another day in my future that will compare to this.
It was all because we as a country finally elected a black man as our President. He made us proud by the way he conducted his/our business every single day of his 8 years to cap it off. You can bet there will be many more black Presidents in this countries future due to the awesome way our first one took care of business

My ass is white as snow and my hair is close to the same. 69 YO. So I do have skin in the game

Now to get a woman in the oval office and we'll be well on the way of completing the circle
