I realize it's not as big a deal as VA, but St. Petersburg, FL looks like a Democrat for Mayor

...and this was a really heated race. Lots of big issues and lots of money spent on a city mayor race. This election was a runoff contest.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Rick Kriseman has won re-election in the race for Mayor of St. Petersburg, according to unofficial results from the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections.

The epic battle for office came down to the wire between former mayor Rick Baker and Kriseman.

Unofficial results show Kriseman received 34,155 votes (51.62%) and Rick Baker received 32,017 votes (48.38%).

This was a incredibly complex election, one we could have lost, and one where Obama may well have personally turned the tide.

but, it helps for the long term as well - maybe from Mayor, this person becomes a good candidate for Governor, US House or US Senate.
