Missed story: the apprehension of the Aurora gunman.

Why didn't he get away? The car was in back of his particular theater. He had just gotten his weapons & vest &c. from it shortly before.

How was he slowed down? Was there a very bright and fast officer who got to him? Did he pause, lose his keys, or . . .?

Seems like a "sweet spot" in the story with so much horror and destruction otherwise.

If so, how did he come to that. He couldn't have lost his keys in the melee. Return to the womb?

6. And I'm sure he attended that theater, that specific one, earlier in the week.

He would have to have known that's where The Dark Knight would be playing. (Can you know this a few days out?) Then gone to a movie, exited through the door he would later use to arm and equip himself, and checked out the parking.

Why was the back lot all but deserted with such a premier?

7. I'm wondering if he was hiding in there for a time before the theater opened.

The police may have removed the cars surrounding his.

8. So he actually left the theatre after the shooting? I had not heard that.

Only that he was 'apprehended'.

9. I thought I remembered that he was apprehended outside, near or going toward his car.

At any rate, someone (or more) kept him from getting in and continuing shooting at others (it was reported he had more ammo in the car and the bullet proof vest was as likely for later as for the incident in the theatre).

Whatever happened, someone acted very fast and spared more tragedy.

That's why I called it a "sweet spot" to the story.

Some reporters are probably following this angle vigorously. If not, they should get on it. It's not a sidebar, but a very important part of the story.

Im sure they will come out soon. It does appear the police responded quickly and secured the perimeter, in that he didn't get away. That may have prevented additional shooting(s).

11. If reports were accurate, he had a lot more ammo in his car.

I'm pretty sure he didn't plan to stop the killing.

So someone likely saved a number of further victims.

What a story! Why aren't they all over it?
