Her statement was just that the person identified was her son, the journalists who called had his address from the police, as this was well after they had raided his apartment, the parents own his apartment, so the journalists probably did a routine check on who owns the apartment to get more info and realized it was his parents.

So it is not surprising that she said that is him, as they had at least his name and his address.

he was on some serious drugs.

Last month he withdrew from the U-Colorado graduate school in neurosciences and in another thread, it was reported that the local news media may have known him because he was constantly calling up to report threats.

That really doesn't sound like someone with all his marbles.
