So... There has been this big shooting about about a mile from me...

I've been hearing the sirens all night but had the TV off until a few minutes ago... Don't know why but I thought it was a fire. I'm almost afraid to go into work this morning, several people I work with had planned to go see The Dark Knight last night but I don't know if it was at this theater or not.

Fucking crazy ass people... I gotta go right now, I'll check in later.

7. On a personal note: one of the reasons I don't go to the movies at night anymore...

After experiencing a huge riot at a movie theater back in the 80's I stopped going to films at huge movie theaters at night.

I take in the first matinee of the day on either a saturday or a sunday.

no lines, no screaming kids, no annoying people talking and most of all no potential of a fight or something like what happened in Co.

Most of the folks that go to those matinees are pretty mellow folks who want to watch and enjoy film in a relaxed environment.

8. Update

I'm at work now. The guy I car pool with called off, he had 6 friends at the theater, two were injured (does not know any more then that yet) and one they can't find yet.

Two other people I work with have also called off because of people they know who were there.

One other guy we know was going to see the midnight showing we cannot get in touch with. We do not know what theater he went to.

It's going to be a long day.

10. Update 2

First... Thanks to everyone that has/does reply. It is pretty crazy out here right now. On the ride inot work, I went past the theater where the shooting happened and there were military trucks pulling into in... Rumors going around about a second shooter still on the loose... No clue where they are coming from or what they are founded on... I heard from the guy I car pool with, two of his friends have minor injuries from escaping the theater, one girl was shot in the shoulder and they still can't find her.

We also have now three people from work who went to see the movie last night that we can't contact. Man this is weird.

1 dead, 4 injured and 8 that got out without injury that either I know or are friends of friends.

I don't know what else to add to that... I think I'm going to take a small hiatus, I really just don't want to look at the fools posting who think their right to kill out weighs people right to live and I certainly don't feel like arguing with their stupid.
