affect their ability to help Dems in their upcoming campaigns? I think the Democratic establishment needs to come down hard on D.B.'s perfectly timed hit.

(4,407 posts)You mean Hillary Clinton.

(7,011 posts)the agreement made during the primary. Donna Brazile is also part of the Democratic establishment. She is going to be corrected by her peers, whether it's by Hillary, other Dems politically, or by the DNC.

(4,407 posts)We need to think about the fact that the Democrats have a perception problem. Fairly or not, Hillary is irreparably tarnished and cannot be the face of the party anymore. The word "establishment" sums up that perception, again whether fairly or not. In fact, if the party gets distance from Hillary, Trumps attacks will not be as damaging to the party and make him look even more obsessed and petty.
Maybe this is a chance to put on a new face, less tarnished by the 2016 clusterfuck, and move forward. Lemonade out of lemons, so to speak.

(7,011 posts)As you can see, she is being exposed by many as being wrong in her characterization of the DNC/HFA agreement.
No need to drag it on. The choice is Donna's. But until she retracts, she will continue to have her ass handed to her by Democrats far and wide.
And as to the "perception problem," you can't chicken out because of it.
I ain't looking for Rush Limbaugh's fucking approval of my candidate.

(4,407 posts)Look at how many elected positions we don't hold right now. I don't understand your reference to chickening out at all... I don't care about past candidate's reputation like I care about winning elections.

(6,044 posts)We lose if the GOP acceptable candidate loses and we lose if the GOP-acceptable candidate wins.
The way to win is to stop attacking or own candidates and embrace them.
Should I be ashamed of Gore, Kerry, and Clinton? These are exceptional people of huge proven accomplishment and hard work.
Cowering in the face of opponents such as the GOP does not work. Independent voters are not drawn to a party of weakness, or one dumping on its own candidates, or willing to passively accept unfairness.
Get distance from a candidate who won the popular vote and alienate or demoralize her huge block of voters?
As bad a strategy as ignoring the the undeclared Russian war upon Clinton, democrats, and Democracy.

(6,044 posts)what is in the rest of her book or why these explosive unproven charges against the DNC were put out there in advance-it appears that she is already retracting.
Everyone using the term "rigged" whether Bernie Sanders, Donna Brasile, or Elizabeth Warren needs to define the term and present their facts, not their emotional suppositions.
Observing their modus operandi is like watching a movie where a soldier step out of a foxhole, pull the pin on a grenade, and turn around and through it at his own troops.

(30,481 posts)Not that I think it will happen. It would be a strong message if the DNC even made a small effort.

(17,235 posts)A former so-called Democratic leader is providing the red meat to drumpf and his supporters. This story will go on and on as redumbliCONs keep it alive. The damage done by DB will be substantial, significant and for now insurmountable. DB is a disgrace. DB's book will become the new redumbliCON bible.
