Matt McDermott nailed it last night: Did someone hit Dems over the head with a stupid bat today?

Did someone hit Democrats over the head with a stupid bat today? Some remarkably incompetent decisions from otherwise smart minds today.

He also retweeted this tweet from Josh Barro re Democracy For America announcing it will no longer support Northam:

Good lord this is idiotic. A lot of democrats really would rather make a point than win this race.

Also from Josh Barro:

Amazing that Donna Brazile tries to rehab her reputation by throwing DWS (who, to be clear, also sucks) under the bus.

Barro also retweeted Howard Dean's comment on DFA's statement yesterday:

I Hope this is inaccurate because it is an incredibly stupid thing to say and deeply discredits the organization which I founded.

And The Rude Pundit weighed in:

Republicans: We're tearing ourselves apart as a party.
Democrats: Hold Elizabeth Warren's beer.

Honestly couldn’t give two shits about agreements between parties and candidates. We got power out in PR, a compromised POTUS, tax cuts, etc

Yesterday was a shambles, a really sad spectacle that gave fuel to Trump and his supporters and turned Twitter into a deluge of RWers posting about Warren and Brazile as "rats" abandoning a "sinking ship."

I prefer to think that they decided to take a sudden dip in error. (It looks this morning as though Brazile either completely misunderstood and overreacted to an agreement or actually confused two agreements, confusing the 2016 agreement with the one from 2015.)

I know this ship isn't sinking.

I know Democrats aren't stupid.

So I hope our Democratic leaders can get back on track today, and help the media get back on track.

It's unfortunate that this has added yet one more dumb conspiracy theory to the right wing's endless supply of conspiracy theories that they keep resurrecting long after they've been debunked.

But unless Trump and RW media succeed in ginning up a federal investigation of Clinton, we should be okay.

Dems just need to stop supporting Trump's conspiracy theories.

See how they project everything in their favor. One thing about the Dem party, we do not walk in a straight line like the trolls in the GOPs.

In other words, Dems are ok and are still trying to help the USA!

to turn the tables and divert attention from their own problems and scandals.

And it's true that Dems don't walk in a straight line, and I'm fine with that.

We just need to be careful not to stumble or wobble so badly we give points to the other side.

by rehashing the Democratic primaries last year and giving fuel to the fight between BOBs and Hillary supporters pretty much when the fight was dying down and more attention was being paid to Trump and his many problems.

I can't comprehend why DFA is dropping their support of Northam over his opposition to Sanctuary Cities, which, although not a great position to take, isn't something that can't be worked on AFTER he is elected. Northam would undoubtedly be more sympathetic to DFA supporters on the issue and more open to possibly changing his mind about it once he is in office than Gillespie EVER will be.
