TIME Magazine Trolls Trump With Latest Cover: 'China Won'

President Donald Trump has been known to pay a lot of attention to TIME Magazine covers — he had fake ones drawn up of himself, and reportedly fumed for months over another depicting Steve Bannon as his “manipulator — and the latest issue is sure to ruffle his come-over.

“China Won” blares the cover, in both English and Chinese. The issue features a piece by Ian Bremmer, the president of the Eurasia Group and a frequent guest on Fox News and Fox Business Network.Bremmer tweeted out the cover on Friday morning, along with a “#AmericaSecond” hashtag:

Bremmer’s piece comes as the Trump administration prepares to embark on a ten-day trip to Asia, with stops in Japan, South Korea and China. In it Bremmer argues that Trump “arrives at a moment when China, not the U.S., is the single most powerful actor in the global economy.”

China has way more people than the US, and with advanced development would have the largest economy. It will happen. The US can continue to develop and grow. Both the US and China can win through development. “Winning” doesn’t have to mean keeping others down.

For 45, and a not insignificant amount of Americans, if there’s a winner, someone else must lose. Even civil rights gets treated like a zero-sum game by some sectors.
