25. Open about what?
Thu Nov 2, 2017, 11:10 PM
Nov 2017

That the votes of white men count more than the majority? That the Democratic Party and Democratic VOTERS have the audacity to prefer and vote for Democrats? That we dare to care about issues like reproductive rights, civil rights, and gun violence rather than pretending white men who earn more than 99.7% of the planet are exploited? That the Democratic Party dares to promote policies that direct resources to the most needy rather than the most entitled? That Democratic voters dared to vote for a competent and experienced candidate who was actually a Democrat?

The GOP didn’t want Trump to be the nominee. They did everything they could to stop him, but he still won. He won because a majority of Republicans turned out to support him. To pretend that a few emails signaling Democratic preference for an actual Democrat who had worked hard for the party for decades a non-Democrat was somehow determinative is a cop out.

Clinton won by 4 million votes. Her campaign invested in voter turnout, in local offices and organizers. Sanders spent the huge majority of his record-breaking fundraising haul on advertising, which has limited effectiveness at best. Of course he lost. How could he have done otherwise with that campaign strategy? Elections take a lot of hard work, drudging, daily doorknocking in snowstorms and the rain. Vigorous voter registration and turnout campaigns. That is how Clinton won, not because Kremlin hacked and altered emails show some DNC officials preferred her. The total 2016 fundraising of the DNC was 1/3 of what Sanders raised, and that money only came in when they opened donations up to corporate donors. The DNC was anemic, hardly capable of rigging an election.

The whole debate meme is bullshit as well. Eichenwald took apart all those myths months ago.
http://www.newsweek.com/myths-cost-democrats-presidential-election-521044 Emails, debates, one bullshit excuse after another. And that is what they are: excuses for failure.

This is the exact same shit the Kremlin pushed to put Trump in office. That we have public figures using Kremlin hacked and altered emails to curry favor with a self entitled minority is reprehensible.

Divide away. They want a war over control of the party, they’ve got it. I’ve held my tongue (held iin comparison to what I have thought). They want to refight their 4 million vote loss, they can have at it. They certainly have persuaded me of the consequences of their efforts. That is why I have the list of Our Rev endorsed candidates for my upcoming local elections, and I’m going to systematically vote for their opponents. And there are many more elections to come. Of course, that is why Nomiki Konst is so committed to replacing primaries with caucuses, so that the poor, people of color, shift workers, elderly, disabled, and women with childcare obstacles can’t participate. If they don’t surrender their votes to the self-entitled, they lose their rights. Then finally the Dem Party can get back to good old days of the 1930s, when only the right sort of people were represented.

Maybe there could be some totally funny contest between supporters of Hillary and Bernie that we all could laugh at and which could allow people to put away their disagreements.

So say I, who tonight lost to my five-year old grandson in CandyLand, 6 to 2. (I think he might have fudged on the rules a bit, but we are family -- we are one!)

Maybe Hillary and Bernie teams (perhaps Kindergartners randomly assigned) can play the best of 7 CandyLand and unite after that with soda or adult beverages.

has no sense of justice, morality, fairness, honesty....this is what happens. He will pull out all the stops, call in favors, coerce the justice department, threaten lawsuits, get his cabinet to go on the record as worshipping him, get foreign countries to praise him, use the bully pulpit to lie. Float fake stories. He's gonna dig in like a tick and it's going to be ugly, depressing, unprecedented, class-less...and there will be a lot of collateral damage.

This is the way he has operated, these quotes from his attorneys:

“You write a story that has Mr. Trump’s name in it, with the word ‘rape,’ and I’m going to mess your life up,” an enraged Cohen told The Daily Beast, threatening a world of legal hurt. Tread very f---ing lightly, because what I’m going to do to you is going to be f---ing disgusting,” he menaced.

And from another attorney:

Kasowitz replied with series of angry messages sent between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Eastern time. One read: “I’m on you now. You are fucking with me now Let’s see who you are Watch your back , bitch.”

In another email, Kasowitz wrote: “Call me. Don’t be afraid, you piece of shit. Stand up. If you don’t call, you’re just afraid.” And later: “I already know where you live, I’m on you. You might as well call me. You will see me. I promise. Bro.”

There are many, many more examples of what he will do to win...no boundaries, no low bar that he won't go under. And this is on those who voted for him in the first place and now on the GOP for letting him stay.

And somehow I dint think the candidate who raised and spent more than any primary candidate had money problems. He also had the same fundraising deal with the DNC Clinton did but chose not to take advantage of.

What I did is exercise my Democratic right to vote, and 4 million more Democrats likewise preferred Clinton to her challengers. That process you insisted made you “kiss the feet” is called electoral democracy: the candidate who gets the majority of votes and delegates win the nomination, no matter how much more important their supporters believe they are compared to the majority of Democratic voters, who are disproportionately people of color, women, and poor. No one forced anyone to vote for Clinton, and no small number chose not to do so.

Contempt for my voting rights is duly noted. The primary was rigged— by the 20th Amendment and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
