Mom Accused Of Driving Minivan With Son And Plastic Pool Tied To Top

facepalm and huge sigh, glad her child is ok.

A mother in Wisconsin is facing a felony charge of recklessly endangering safety after she allegedly strapped her 9-year-old son to the top of a minivan on top of a plastic pool.

Amber Schmunk, 28, of Fredonia was charged earlier this month for the September 9 incident, which started after officers received a call reporting a child on top of a vehicle holding down a plastic pool, according to the Ozaukee Press.

A witness later reported seeing Schmunk pull over and take the child off the minivan roof and wedge the pool inside the vehicle before dropping it off at her sister’s house, according to WTMJ TV.

Officers who arrived on scene questioned Schmunk about her son’s alleged wild ride.

When I was a kid our little league coach had the entire team crowd into the bed of his huge pickup truck for a twenty minute ride, at 70 mph plus, to the nearest party pizza place.

The ride home was freezing and no huddling body warmth sharing stuff was allowed because that would be homo. We all maintained a personal space of at least three inches.

The weird thing is from a modern perspective that no parents complained.

Our Gra-Y coach had all we kids cram into his '60's VW bug. We all thought it was awesome fun and thank God no one got hurt.

My HS cross country coach had me and another guy lie down in the back of his pickup while being driven 60 miles to a meet. Again, we were lucky nothing happened. These days, I'd say no thanks coach, call me a taxi lol

Her ancestors fought and died for her right to put her son in a pool on top of her car and drive home.
