Baby named Frankenstein born at Florida hospital on Halloween

https://www.clickorlando.com/news/baby-named-frankenstein-born-at-florida-hospital-on-halloween

One Altamonte Springs couple got an extra treat for Halloween.

Their baby, Oskar Gray Frankenstein, was born at Winter Park Memorial Hospital at 2:57 p.m. Tuesday.

Kyle and Jessica Frankenstein were planning to welcome their baby boy into the world Saturday, but grandmother Jennifer Frankenstein said her family had a suspicion that little Oskar's birth would coincide with the holiday.

"He was due four days ago and he decided to wait until Halloween,” Jennifer Frankenstein said.

At first I thought the baby's first name was Frankenstein.

His paternal grandparents immigrated here from Germany, in an era when many people shortened their names upon arrival. If that had even been my family surname, I'd have been tempted to shorten it.

Apologies to any other Frankensteins out there. There are lots of other names I'd rather not have, either.

They must have thick skins and be proud of it. More power to them. The child, however.... I don't envy him.
