JESUS. In the current Trump-Schumer Twitter feud, I'm gonna have to give THIS round to CHUCK.

Chuck Schumer ?Verified account
@SenSchumer

When terrorism has struck us in the past, presidents have brought us together. It’s a shame this president can’t.

I didn't like the Patriot Act.

I sort of supported the invasion of Afghanistan... but I thought we should have gone in faster and bigger and then left ASAP right after destroying the Taliban and Bin Laden.

He lost me with Iraq and the Colin Powell speech to the UN.

Never forgive him for that.

and Cheney outing Valerie Plame. That made me so mad I nearly had a stroke. Poor old 'Scooter' had to take the rap for that. I wanted to see people hang for that shit!

Although not fully aware of the “Shock Doctrine” technique back then, I knew the Republicans were not to be trusted, but even Bush and the neoconservatives had the sense to wait a bit. Perhaps with Trump it is better. Fewer will be taken in by his (lack of) compassion and humanity?

I will never forgive a war criminal.

You would think his lack of empathy would have dissuaded voters in 2016. That made the election an easy call. I do not understand blind devotion.

But Trump is like a whole new level of horrible. Not sure that the scale even goes that low.

If Bush was 0 on a scale of 0 to 10, Trump is like -50.

But such is the state of our political discourse.

We have a powerful set of disinformation outlets actively lying to the American Public and promoting conspiracy theories and propaganda.

And now we see how Stalin and Hitler came to power... it's not like they did a completely hostile takeover of their countries. They had plenty of "believers".

But the 'uniterer in chief' went on to level an entire innocent country, and kill who knows how many hundreds of thousands of people... soooooo...

I'd say as a president, Bush still sets the low bar overall, and our immediate need is to keep trump from going there, or replace him.

until Trump.

I didn't agree with any of the wars. He should have gone after Osama Bin Laden with covert troops and brought him to justice in our courts. The last man who led a terrorist attack on the twin towers during Clinton's administration is rotting in jail as we speak.

Bush was a semi-effective leader and accomplished some things. Sadly, one of those accomplishments was leading us as a group, together, into a unilateral undeclared war.

If we can keep trump from that sort of nonsense, still worse leader, but bush would just have too much caked-on blood on him to warrant passing the 'worst president' crown.

Jackson was a murderous motherfucker too, but I guess we can only work with living memory in a meaningful way here.

The orange oaf is no doubt already trying to think of ways to take political advantage of this tragedy.

If his lackeys start bringing up Uzbekistan a lot, expect another trillion-dollar boondoggle. Worked for Bush, after all.
