He wants to be worshiped - and if you don't worship him, he wants you to fear him.

His inability to think beyond his own ego disallows for any other ideas than what gets him the most cheers. And, sadly, some Americans are ready and willing to be his mindless subjects as long as he makes them feel good. And he does - by appealing to their fear and ignorance - by telling them it is OK to hate, OK to discriminate, OK to be violent against anyone who does not see the world as they see it.

And as long as Trump is not held accountable for his actions, he and his supporters are not only emboldened, it looks (no matter how untrue) that Americans think Trump and his supporters are simply another side of a political debate - instead of the danger they are to the country and the world.

I honestly don't think enough people in America recognize the danger we are all in with Trump (Pence and the rest).

I think too many think "this too shall pass", simply wanting it all to go away, instead of actually dealing with the problem. As if they can sit back and wait until Trump is out of office and everything will go back to normal. And that amounts to little more than sweeping it all under an already too lumpy rug. It's delusional denial. Those emboldened will not go quietly. If Trump and his backers fail now, they will try again. No accountability would mean they'll have an even easier time next time around. Even if it's not Trump, it will be someone worse.

Far too many Americans have proven themselves open to a dictatorship. Far too many have shown they lack critical thinking skills and are willing to embrace any lie as long as it makes them feel good.

What's the old saying - If it feels good, do it. Trump and his supporters think if it feels good, believe it.
