We've had some sexual harassers here on DU

One prominent former member gained the nick of (name redacted) Tits because breasts was one of his very favorite subjects. Be they the breasts of a female member of DU or somebody elses.

Then there was a Lounge regular who finally got the boot after he made some extremely vulgar comments to a female member.

Both of them couldn't understand why they would get a post hidden as they claimed they were just engaging in harmless fun and the rest of us, those who served on a jury and voted to hide one of their offending posts, needed to lighten up.

1. We also had a self-admitted rapist

One who bragged about having raped lots of women in his youth, and didn't actually seem remorseful about it. Women DUers (and some male posters) begged Admin to ban him, but they refused.

I have no idea if they are still active on here, but they weren't banned, even though many, many women and some men called for him to be.

There was also that dude years ago in the Lounge who would talk about his penis size all the time.

Enough so that I wished I had known his real name, so I could have called CPS for a check (one of his daughters was a minor). He was banned, for being inappropriate with female DUers.

Also, last I checked the TOS is still very fuzzy on seixsm. The decision depends entirely on the jury because well...it is just not clear that sexism is a bad thing.

5. And lets not forget about the admonishments from those in charge when members fought back against

threats of rape upon female members here and how many joined in and told the women victims this is common and nothing can be done about it. And to just ignore it. That we were making it worse by giving them attention.

I can barely type out this truth without wanting to vomit.

12. I actually miss the Meta Forum because of all of this

As much of a cesspool it could be, we had a lot of evidence posted about this stuff, and said posters coming in and hanging themselves.
