EVERYONE IS FREAKING OUT : Trump's West Wing Races to Contain Mueller Fallout

“EVERYONE IS FREAKING OUT”: Trump's West Wing Races to Contain Mueller Fallout
The Trump-Russia “witch hunt” becomes suddenly, terrifyingly real.
BY ISOBEL THOMPSON OCTOBER 31, 2017 3:30 PM

Although the White House had been anticipating charges in Robert Mueller’s “witch hunt” for months, news that one former adviser, George Papadopoulos, had pleaded guilty, and begun working with the F.B.I., exploded like a bomb.

Rising before dawn and gluing himself to his television, Trump at first felt vindicated by the charges against Paul Manafort and Richard Gates, which were seemingly unconnected to Russia. “NO COLLUSION!” he tweeted triumphantly, after he spoke with his lawyers. Others were reportedly relieved that the first batch of indictments did not include Trump’s former national security advisor, Michael Flynn. (Manafort and Gates have pleaded not guilty.)

But the president’s mood darkened after hearing that Papadopoulos had, apparently, turned state’s witness. “The walls are closing in,” one senior Republican in close contact with top staffers told the Post, echoing other sources who described Trump as angry and agitated.

“Everyone is freaking out.” The New York Times reported that White House aides were “stunned and alarmed.”

His legal team has urged the investigation to proceed swiftly so that it can be concluded by the end of the year.

Last night, Kelly declared on Fox News that an investigation was needed to probe funding from Clinton’s campaign and the DNC for the research behind the Trump/Russia dossier, and Clinton’s involvement in the Uranium One deal, adding that he thought Mueller’s investigation should “wrap up soon.”

My guess, Sessions is out by the end of the week. Keep in mind that Sessions was the head of the NATSEC committee of the Trump campaign, so it is his minion who wore the wire and turned on Trump. Sessions has a lot more to worry about than his perjury before Congress. Sessions was chairing the meeting where Papa reported on "Putin's niece" offering "dirt" on Hillary.

I keep hearing that thanksgiving will be nuts. Some people are expecting a major Mueller move by then that will put trump in political danger.

My favorite was my parents house was burgled. They called the cops and while the cops were there interviewing them, they get a call from another cop. The crooks had gone to another house and tried to drive up close to a window so they could just pass they loot out the window to their van and a wheel went into a window well so they called the cops to help them get out. The stuff they stole from my parents was in the van.

Trump famously requires loyalty of the people he will work with. He demands it. But he never shows any loyalty whatsoever to those beneath him. Anyone who hasn't noticed this is living under a rock. But I think it will end up biting him badly in the butt. Who's going to show loyalty to someone who would happily throw them under a bus to save himself a buck, never mind his skin?

They're going to start flipping so fast it'll be like a game of pogs over there.

It appears that if this situation develops as we all want it to, this country will be thrown into near-anarchy.
Imagine: The Attorney General, the President, the Speaker of the House, the Vice President, members of the President's immediate family - all significantly under considerable legal jeopardy now - fall under indictments or just resign in anticipation of such.

This scenario may be very familiar to all of us on this site but it is not to most Americans who have a poor (and self-afflicted) understanding of the current crisis. I dare say that the tragic events in NYC yesterday cause most Americans more unnecessary paranoia than the unfolding events hinting at treason and espionage at our nation's highest level. The devils we know...

The upheaval to our sense of order in America surely has to be weighing heavily on Mr. Mueller and his team, despite their best efforts to address the serious crimes that are now slowly coming into focus.

Those of us who have carried the banner of resistance since last November must be strong and serve as the true voices of reason as this country begins one of the most significant reunification attempts in our history. We must do this publicly, privately, with friends, with co-workers, with neighbors, and with each other. We must then continue our work to insure proper processes for free elections are instituted and protected. Only then will this country heal.
