CNN: Manafort has 3 passports, traveled to China with phone registered under fake name

Washington (CNN)How rich are Paul Manafort and Rick Gates, and where did they travel?

That question lingered over the pair's court hearing on Monday after both faced the first indictments from Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Because both men appeared to be globe-trotting multi-millionaires and faced charges for serious crimes related to their work abroad, the government said they should be held under house arrest. A judge agreed Monday.

A new court filing Tuesday showed exactly what Manafort and Gates told banks and investigators about their net worths and travel histories over the past few years.

It was the phone accounts that were not.

As others have said having multiple US passports is not thg uncommon, especially for people who travel in the Middle East or travel to certain other countries that are hostile to each other. There are countries that will deny entry or harass you based on what other countries you have been to.

The company I work for has people that travel to Israel for work as well as other middle eastern countries, and they all have two passports. One for travel to Israel and one for travel to any majority muslim countries. Going into Israel is never an issue with any stamp, but if you have an Israeli stamp or visa you will get denied entry to some countries and harassed at the entry point to others.

If you are a dual citizen you can have a passport from each country.
But I did not know Americans can have two passports.

If you have an Israel stamp in your passport you cannot travel to some Muslim countries. But I don't see why you would need more than 2. Manafort has 3 and they said he's applied for more.

8. you are right, second passport is allowed if you travel to Israel and Middle east countries

Though one time I had to come down to Dubai after having my passport with Israeli stamp (I only carry the passport that is needed and never mix and match), I was allowed to enter.

There is evil at the head of our country. Manafort was just one of the most evil. Bannon, Trump, Kushner, all want awful things for the people of this country.
