I considered this for the Humor board, but then you never know:
Exclusive: Multiple sources with links to the justice and intelligence communities report that Special Counsel Mueller has dozens of sealed indictments against suspects in the Trump Russia scandal.
snip
Donald Trump indicted on RICO over the Felix Sater and Bayrock case, and on other charges which sources have requested we do not report.
Mike Flynn indicted for failing to register under FARA, the Foreign Agents Registration Act, as an agent of Turkey whilst National Security Advisor
snip
Paul Ryan
Rex Tillerson
Steve Mnuchin
snip
The Republican Party as a body is under investigation for RICO for accepting Russian money. The GOP itself is being considered to be a corrupt organization under the RICO statutes. Sources were firm that the GOP, as it is presently known, may no longer exist after this investigation and a new party of the right may have to form. Sources did not say if charges or indictments had been returned against the party however.

(108,995 posts)She was right about FISA. She was right about Comey. She was right about lRosenstein. And she was right about Mueller. They were all people who were trying to do the right thing -- even if they were Republicans.
When many people here were completely demoralized, she helped people not give up. And I think that's a good thing.

(63,224 posts)I know that someone will immediately offer up children believing in Santa Claus or adults with terminal cancer believing in a miracle cure, but of course these are irrelevant to the case at hand.
Mesnch is earning her paycheck by creating falsehoods to be eagerly lapped up by functional adults willing to deceive themselves. This is straight up fraud, and I find nothing positive or uplifting about it.
Her fans will continue to praise her, obviously, and they are free to do so, but they are wrong to imagine that she's benefiting anyone except herself (and her behind-the-scenes benefactors, of course).
She was pivotal in bringing the Steele dossier to the forefront, hardly fake news

(4,490 posts)I'm not digging that shit up again just because some people can't figure it out the first dozen times that she's been shown to be a non-credible fraud. No irony here at all. Just not going to write a research paper for every sucker that comes along and is too stupid or lazy to take an honest look at her track record. She hit on maybe a single story while pushing a whole lot of nonsense (based on speculation and lack of source checking) and showing a complete lack of understanding of how our political system works (such as claiming a redo of the electionwas going to happen). An internet prank showed more explicitly how her and Taylor fail to verify their sources when someone was able to easy convince them they were law enforcement through email, though it was pretty obvious in previous stories that ended up being false.

(63,224 posts)No matter how many times she's debunked, the next time she opens her tweet-hole we see her acolytes jump up to claim that this one is the real deal.
She has been sort of right-ish a number of times, but the same can be said of any cold-reader "psychic." When your "successes" are vague statements ("someone was arrested in July" ) and misses (FISA's sealed indictments), then the bar is set very low indeed.
I don't care if she predicts the moment of Trump's impeachment with to-the-second accuracy; until a credible journalist confirms her story, Mensch is not worth believing.

(10,839 posts)The whole group included in the Mensch et al group--Team Patriot--are not journalists but have had unnamed 'sources' more right than wrong. I read their tweets with a pinch of salt but I do not automatically disregard their reports nor do I push them on anyone else.
We all get to choose and analyze. My suspicion is that a lot of what these people have reported months in advance? Will be vindicated at the end of this. Louise Mensch is on RT's top ten list of critics of the Kremlin. Along with John McCain, Morgan Freeman, Rob Reiner, etc. Pretty good company in my mind.
Readers choice.

(8,138 posts)What is the attraction of hearing a rumor of something that months later you can look back and say "I knew that back then"? Because if only half of her stories come true, you don't know at the time which of them might be true. You only know it later- when someone else reports it.
peggysue2
(10,839 posts)of what these people have reported is incorrect. That's simply not the case. Have they made mistakes? Yes, and they've admitted them, come forward on their feeds and done the whole mea culpa thing. That said, I'm not pushing the group or their reports on anyone.
What is the benefit? Having a sense of what's going on behind the scenes, peeking around corners then comparing that material to what I've read from traditional sources. It's a way of staying informed and not being overwhelmed by day-to-day events. Obviously using these alternative sources is not for everyone, judging from comments on the DU board.
That's okay. As I've said repeatedly, it's the individual reader's choice.

(42,761 posts)Which is a different court than the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
Plus, it has been widely reported that critical evidence used to obtain the indictment was gathered when Manafort's house was raided over the summer -- AFTER the eastern district indictment allegedly had been obtained.
LM's knowledge of the legal process is a joke. Really. Truly. I'm trying to recall if she has ever gotten anything right on even a procedural level -- stuff that anyone could look up. Can't think of a single time.

It turns out Papadopoulos was arrested in July, and no one noticed. Who else has been arrested while no one noticed?
And yes, it now seems there may be many other sealed indictments.
Bradical79
(4,490 posts)Same with the indictments. Lots of us thought arrests were coming just because the corruption was so overt. Her indictments claim hasn't been backed up either. The unsealed indictment is from a much later date than when she claimed they were there. The grand jury wasn't even convened yet when she was talking about arrests in April and May. Also said Trump had been indicted at the time which clearly isn't the case.

(4,490 posts)Nice thing about emails is they can come from anywhere! She just flat out doesn't check sources. As a prankster had shown earlier, it's rather easy to plant a fake story with her and Taylor with some semi-convincing emails. She hates Russia as much as anybody, but it reaches the level of unhinged paranoia. Makes her very easy to manipulate. Some think feelings are more important than facts when its someone supposedly on our side. It's the same attitude Newt Gingrich described in his infamous interview awhile back.
And sometimes her paranoia goes in a disgusting direction, like claiming Weiner's predatory behaviour woth a young teenaged girl was a conspiracy enacted by multiple intellegence agents. The poor girl's life was upended by this, and Mench was egging people on about it being a right wing/ Russian conspiracy.
Also we have her to thank for Trump's wiretapping claims.
It's frustrating, and really pushes my buttons, lol.

Three months later both Graysons were crushed in Democratic primaries (he was trying for the Senate nomination, she was trying for his former House seat). The idea that she would have access to "well-placed sources" two months after that debacle is gut busting laughable.

(3,827 posts)The OP of that post sounds just like every Twitter follower of Mensch and Taylor. Mensch has stated numerous times that the entire GOP is under investigation and she's even thrown out the espionage word on occasions. If Taylor and Mensch's names were attached to that OP there would be far less recs an more people on here attacking the OP for posting such "nonsense".
It is espionage.
At the very highest levels and much deeper into the Republican Party than we may have imagined.

Mike Flynn indicted for failing to register under FARA, the Foreign Agents Registration Act, as an agent of Turkey whilst National Security Advisor
While we are able to report that Special Counsel Mueller is holding dozens of sealed indictments, many of which were returned while James Comey was Director of the FBI, we cannot report with specificity who is indicted on what charge other than the two above, because sources were not specific. We have reported on the investigations suspects are facing, and these are listed below.
Listed as under investigation with lots of specifics as to areas:
Mike Pence
Paul Ryan
Rex Tillerson
Steve Mnuchin
Mike Flynn
Mike Flynn Jr
Donald J Trump Jr
Eric Trump
(These are not intended to be exclusionary. We are aware of other offenses the Trump sons and their father are being investigated for and are withholding reporting at the request of sources).
Ivanka Trump
Brad Parscale, Jared Kushner, Pyotr Levashov, Michael Cohen and Boris Epshteyn (among several others)
Michael Cohen
Mitch McConnell
Jason Chaffetz
Devin Nunes
Steve Bannon
Julian Assange
Jeff Sessions
