Based on what has happened, why would anyone think this won't get shut down before it even gets

started

The indictment will probably involve the low hanging fruit like Flynn or someone like that, and I really think there will be a concerted effort by trump and the republicans to shut it down.

There's a person on Mueller's team that's an expert on flipping witnesses.

He could fire Mueller but there are sealed indictments ready & waiting to be unsealed.

Trump can replace Mueller, but the charges & all findings on file remain.
Trump can't make those go away.

I am confident that Mueller has planned well ahead for the real possibility of Trump putting someone in place with the intent on firing Mueller.

The wheels of Mueller's justice are turning with or without trump's blessing.

It may end up in the SC where Mueller has already had conferences with.

Keep the faith in Mr Mueller & his world class team
All I can say. They have missed nothing.

If he starts pardoning people who were indicted on the basis of actions they took as part of his campaign, that's not going to help him a whole lot.

10. He would fire the special prosecutor, and unlike WaterGate, the republicans would back him on it.

When you have fox news and other right wing outlets calling for Mueller's resignation in the last few days, I think they are setting up for this
