Both sides of climate change debate are valid, argues new U.S. ambassador to Canada

President Trump’s newly appointed ambassador to Canada believes in “both sides” of the debate surrounding climate change.

U.S. ambassador Kelly Craft, who assumed her new duties on Monday, told the CBC that she believes there is merit to both arguments in favor of the existence of climate change and those countering the belief that the phenomenon is fueled by human beings.

“I think that both sides have their own results, from their studies, and I appreciate and I respect both sides of the science,” Craft said, adding that she feels each side has presented “accurate” data. She declined to say whether or not she herself was inclined towards one side or another.

Craft, the first woman to serve in her position, is a businesswoman, philanthropist and major donor to the Republican Party. She is also married to Kentucky coal magnate Joe Craft, who actively criticized the climate policies of the Obama administration. He is the president and CEO of Alliance Resource Partners LP — one of the largest coal producers in the eastern United States.

we get an ice age, which is then followed by global warming which thaws all that glacier ice produced during ice age. This has been going on much longer than human origins on earth.

The winters in Iowa were brutal. Going to grocery store after workday was simply awful. During the summers in Florida, I can go shopping after sundown. It is not brutal.

Next ice age is going to kill a big chunk of humanity living north of 23.5 deg latitude. Ditto for the southern hemisphere. Global warming will also kill lot of people but far less than the ice age. I think the dinosaurs vanished during a particularly harsh ice age. The cold made them too sluggish to hunt for food.

If not it is based on conjecture.

It is cute... Of course I was being sarcastic about the youtube thing. I hope it was obvious and did not need
the sarcasm tag.

Even idiots know Dinosaurs existed very long long long ago. And that was my point, it is pure conjecture to say why or how dinosaurs went extinct. Asteroid strike? Hahaha Anyone who says they know the reason is either bluffing, or guessing or believes in Santa Claus. My conjecture is very serious ice age. At least I am honest
to declare it is conjecture, as opposed to know it all's.

This:

Note the last ice age before the one we are currently in ended almost 200 million years ago. (Yes, we live in an Ice Age! Fortunately we are in an inter-glacial cycle that should last another 5,000 to 20,000 years... and maybe much longer with what we are doing to the planet).

to this argument, anymore than there were two sides during the cigarette smoking causes cancer days. The Merchants of Doubt who swore up and down that cigarettes were not involved in health risks are pushing the same tactics in Climate Change denying--muddy the waters with faux facts and protestations. Some of the same people defending the Tobacco Kings are, in fact, involved in the Climate Change battle.

As they were lying then, they're lying now. For the sake of industry profits.

Because both sides have their results and each side is accurate.
