But fro some on the right, the Second Amendment was written on the reverse side of the Ten Commandments.

Ask Roy Moore.

Right now gun ownership is an individual right not connected to militia service.

From a legal standpoint at least. DC v Heller basically severed the militia clause from the Amendment. Arguing to tie the the right to own guns to militia service is a legal dead end at this point until Heller is overturned.

The Unorganized Militia is the one that commits Rampage Killings.

With Rights should come Responsibilities.

They may not be saying it in those words but they certainly act like it could not be abolished.

It can and I would argue at this point needs to be or at the very least heavily modified.

Do you really think that there are 38 states willing to ratify such a change?

How in the hell would anyone think we could get 2/3 of Congress to pass a Constitutional Amendment to repeal the 2nd, and then have 3/4 of the states endorse it? Ridiculous.

There is a clearly defined procedure to do so. Any amendment could be modified or abolished with enough political support.

The bill of rights grants no rights, so repealing an amendment merely moves the right from being enumerated to unenumerated.

Guns are a $15 billion-a-year business, and the Republican Party and NRA are comfortable with that. It's mind-boggling that after incidents like Virginia Tech, Aurora, Sandy Hook and Las Vegas (to mention only a few), neither the Republicans nor the NRA feel the need to change anything. It's just business as usual...in the United States.

revisited and modified given enough support from the states.

That said, it WON'T be. You'd have more luck wishing yourself to the moon.
