Poll: 54 Percent Say Romney Should Release More Tax Returns
A new snap poll taken Wednesday night from Gallup and commissioned by USA Today shows 54 percent of Americans believe presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney should release more than two years of tax returns. Those calling for more disclosure include 75% of Democrats, 53% of independents and 30% of Republicans, Gallup found.
President Obama has released 12 years of personal tax returns, and his campaign has hammered away at reports of Romney holding off-shore bank accounts and paying a lower tax rate (due to income from investments) than most Americans. Thirty-seven percent said that Romney shouldnt have to release any more returns.

From USA Today:
Those surveyed are divided on whether the likely Republican nominee is trying to hide anything. While 42% predict the release of additional returns would not reveal anything politically harmful, 44% believe it would include damaging information including 15% who say they believe the revelations would be so serious that they would show he is unfit to be president.

(135,425 posts)1. Please--only 54 percent? I don't know ANYONE who doesn't think he should release his returns.
Even the asshole Republican who lives around the corner thinks he should 'fess up.
It's a GALLUP poll, I see. Add fifteen points and we're probably closer to reality!
