Jeff Flake deserves credit?

Jeff Flake deserves about as much credit as a toddler newly able to identify colors. The GOP is deafeningly silent, and endlessly complicit.

6. And right after, he told NPR he would continue to support Trump's agenda.

He's just a big crybaby that Trump is blatantly racist, instead of keeping it quiet.

8. I think he said he would support Trump when he agreed with him??

But we should not lose sight of the fact that Trump adopted the Republican agenda in order to get their allegiance. He was never a Republican or a conservative. "Trump's agenda" is a bit deceiving.

9. He didn't highlight a single thing - legislatively, that he would oppose Trump on.

And he gave mealy-mouthed excuses for Trump's enablers.

That kind of "courage" is laughable.

It costs him nothing, since he's quitting.

12. OK, I'll admit that I missed him mentioning that.

But, DACA was something Trump kicked to Congress saying "Fix it."
I don't know that he has outlined anything specific he wants done.

I hardly thing that's something Flake can win points for.

The guy is a pathetic weasel.

7. most Americans didn't need a speech

...from a member of the most destructive political party in our history.

What they need is concrete action. A compromised pol taking swipes while backing out the door doesn't strike me as the most consequential voice in Washington.

It's worthless grandstanding that will have no impact at all. Republicans still in office will ignore it, Democrats will praise it pointlessly, and Trump will keep on Trumping until every last one of us is Trumped beyond recognition.

Why, exactly, should we credit Flake for doing nothing of value and taking no real action against Trump?

My guess is they are lining up lucrative corporate lobbyist gigs.
Their vote for tax cuts will pad their resume.

In essence, Flake is saying "Praise me as I relocate to my decades-long career raking in millions as a lobbyist."

But it's just an ego pissing contest! They still share the common goal of screwing us over!

He will remain what his name implies, as far as I'm concerned.

was the tone of genuine fear in his (Flake's) voice. Does he know something none of the rest of us know?
