On Tuesday, the State Department was forced to admit that it lied about Secretary of State Rex Tillerson meeting in Kabul, Afghanistan with that country’s president — and altered a photo as fake evidence of the visit.

Rachel Maddow opened her Tuesday show with the news, which was reported by the BBC after observers noticed discrepancies in different version of the photo — which was actually taken at a U.S. military installation.

The State Department issued a correction on Tuesday, admitting it had faked the photo and lied about the meeting’s location and about Kabul being safe enough for the U.S. Secretary of State to openly visit.

There isn't much value in making us think Tillerson went to Kabul, so maybe the answer is cover for someone else going somewhere as far away as Afganistan. The most direct route to Afganistan would fly over the top and pass through Russia... Russia... I've heard that name somewhere...

yesterday with the very clear American military time digital clock removed in the supposed "meeting in Kabul" photo (honestly it's like one of those "can you tell what's missing" games they give to kids). It went viral because everyone was posting out the obvious discrepancy -- that's when Trump and co had to backtrack. Scumbags.

Whatever went on with our poor troops in Niger, they are doing anything at all possible to distract and undermine the public interest in the story. They are even trying their "hey look at this!" stories such as the not-new story that the dnc contributed $$$ to fund the oppo research in the Steele dossier -- hardly unusual -- anything to change the subject from the Trump shitstorm.

This man sucks, and he will without question go down in history as the worst president we've ever had, by miles.

Once again, Trump does shit that other presidents would get endless abuse about yet Trump again seems to skate through with a BLATANT lie to the American people.
