Senator Flake is a coward. He isn't standing up for what is right, he is running from it.

Standing up to Trump is voting against Trump.

Speaking out for America is removing Trump from office.

Doing the right thing is banding your fellow repube senators together and THEN speaking out.

You don't take your ball and cry and go home.

Senator Flake you are a coward and you are complicit with Trump and everything he is doing. History remembers your votes.

As long as he had to run for reelection, he could not be honest. He could not go after Trump.

Now, both he and Corker are free agents until 2019.

And McCain will likely not run again, either.

They can all speak their minds and are showing that they intend to.

He is leaving the Senate after this term even if he decided to run again.

At least now he is ABLE to stand up and vote against Trump agenda... without worrying that he will lose the election (which he would).

Still, the time to stand up and say what he said was one year ago right now.

same type of stuff on another thread. Personally, I wouldn't want anyone to think they were mine, anyway.

I mean, it's not exactly my problem if he's weakened the Republicans' chances of holding that senate seat. Quite the contrary.

His internals must be horrible and show him losing to a right-wing Roy Moore wannabe. He's clearing the way for someone who has a better chance of defeating the most-likely bat$hit-crazy Republican candidate.

He doesn't have a pathway to victory without running a racist, sexist, xenophobic campaign and I think he is one of few Republicans who still have some values and integrity (not a lot, mind you, but some).

In short, I think he's trying to save us from another Roy Moore-type Senator. Corker, to me, seems like the coward. When he didn't get the position he was angling for and after Trump started to ridicule him, he decided to pack up his marbles and go home.

The primary would have been bloody. Now he leaves at the end of his term he will be replaced by a Republican OR maybe a Democrat. But until January 2019, he can raise hell.

At some point, John McCain will resign or die in office. Then the governor could choose Flake to serve out McCain's term (if Flake wants it).

It could happen. Or maybe Arizona will elect a Democratic governor.
