Obama should publicly denounce Fox News

Media Matters is chockful of misinformation coming out of Fox News. Many people watch that channel. Their lies hurt Obama and all Democrats. Obama should say something to the effects that Americans should disregard the BS spread in their studios. Their spin and lies is much worse and blatant than any other news outlet out there.

That's my opinion.

""I think what our advisers have simply said is that we are going to take media as it comes," Obama told NBC's Savannah Guthrie. "And if media is operating basically as a talk radio format then that's one thing, and if it's operating as a news outlet that's another. But it's not something I'm losing sleep over."

White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod said this weekend that Fox is "not really a news station." That echoes similar comments made by White House Communications Director Anita Dunn and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel."

Underwhelmed.

"But it's not something I'm losing sleep over."

Sorry, but he ought to be at least having some uncomfortable sleep of it.

Pres. Obama is going to lose his office if he maintains this 'no-drama' response to the lies and propaganda that spews out of "Fox News".

I don't watch FN; I don't believe a word they broadcast -- but it is a big part of the rightwing hate machine and influences a lot of people ... and not just the fanatics, it clearly has the ability to drive the so-called "liberal" mainstream media.

Frankly, Pres. Obama ought to say it in very concise, plain, unambiguous language: 'Fox News is propaganda tool of the Republican Party and neither I nor members of my administration will participate in any of its activities.'

But he won't.

ergo anything the President might say during this election will do nothing to change their minds. If you notice the comments made about FOX occurred outside of an election cycle which was the appropriate time.

but then doing so only gives them a bigger platform that they can parlay to escalate their spew and drive the news cycle. In essence, doing such would be considered whining.

I think most Americans still get their news from free (non-cable/pay) networks and the Faux garbage gets to them via sound bites or coworkers/friend/family.

They would just talk about it among themselves without any other actual point of view, which just lets them stew in their own juices. Disgusting as that is.

Besides, Obama has done so in the past.

Still, I would like to have "News" defined, rather than "Opinion and Talking Points".
I think that would be a better line of attack, rather than denouncing Fox News by name.

Defining news as:
Factual, bare bones, mild mannered take on events.

Like Clark Kent used to be. Although I thought Republicans have gone after Supes after he mentioned becoming a World Citizen instead.
