(102,292 posts)are irritating. And, that he seems to get even more excited delivering bad news about a Democrat (or even re: one of the few "more" moderate Republicans) is galling.

(7,522 posts)I knew more about politics at age 16 than he does. A frenzied approach may seem good to some tv types; it's not when that's all you have. Take Lemon any time and Kornacki is as far from Kershaw as baseball is from knitting.

(14,565 posts)He can counter Ben Shapiro very effectively, far beyond most lefty pundits.
If you shifted him to MSNBC, then CNN would be much weaker in that slot.
Besides, CNN is considered more balanced than MSNBC. That apple vs. banana ad has considerably more impact on CNN than it would on MSNBC. We are actually best served with stronger pundits on CNN than MSNBC. Trump doesn't feel threatened by MSNBC because he feels anyone inclined to his side has already dismissed MSNBC as irrelevant. When Rachel Maddow uncovers something meaningful the right seldom pays much attention. I never see those revelations or her program discussed by any of the right wing posters on sports sites I frequent. They don't care. They only find Rachel when she gaffes, like last week.
On the other hand, the right is truly paranoid about CNN. I see at least a dozen desperate threads per week on those same sports sites, started by right wingers and attacking CNN. They are obviously passing along material that sources atop right wing media, aimed at chipping away at CNN's credibility.
