Why don't these GOP Senators stay and fight against the Trump crazies?

It really seems like they are giving up. I don't know if this is good or bad. Does it not give a nut job an even greater chance of taking the seat? Or does it open the opportunity for a Democratic candidate to take the seat? I'm not sure how to feel about this.

I think it's their way of protesting because they are too timid to actually do anything about Dotard while they are still in congress. But it presents an equal opportunity for Dems and crazies, and that is scary.

They are warning us and I count the votes for REMOVAL (Senate) after the Impeachment (House) at 52 now (McCain, Flake, Corker, Collins, and Murkowski --- With Tills a Strong Possibly).

and the Republican base, I think a lot seeing themselves getting primaried anyway. Best to make a "principled stand", quit, and make a fortune in the private sector while they can, rather than go down with the ship.

They would probably have to work their asses off just to make it out of the primary against some Bannon-esque piece of shit.

...they may want to seek out the governor spot or high profile lobbyist.

Going out with a bang makes you a bit toxic if you want to be a lobbyist, because, inevitably, you are going to have to speak against some colleagues.

For the governorship, resigning and popping up later is a lot easier than losing and trying to claw yourself back from the political grave.

Then there is that whole impeachment thing....I bet Flake wants out before that vote comes....assuming its not too late already. Then again, if it comes out early, there will no doubt be a mountain of evidence so he can vote to impeach.

He's been damaged beyond repair with the Republican voters in AZ by Trump.

So he just flipped him off and said he's going to fight him until January 2019. And, now he's got nothing left to lose.

That they have little chance of winning a Republican primary given that the rabid right controls the party in their respective States.
