(9,291 posts)Years back our house got hit by a tornado, just a cat 1 or 2. I believe one death, however we were called by Vice President Gore to see if we needed anything and if we were ok. We lived in a red state and it was a nice gesture of the Vice President.
However, Trump is not Gore and doesn't understand how to relate to people.
Whoever works in the White House and got him to do these calls should be fired. They should have known better. Don't force Trump to do anything, America might depend on that.

The soulless coward lies; he lies about everything. We have no reason to trust him. Hell, this whole sad fiasco started because he lied. Hell, if he said the sun will rise in the east this morning, I'd check my watch and compass.
The congresswoman might have a reason to lie. Trump has every reason.

(13,431 posts)He also was not alone on the call most likely. Still, I think he is bluffing here and trying to cover his tracks after all of the pushback from his despicable behavior.
PJMcK
(22,048 posts)Trump is bluffing just as he was when he threatened James Comey about his "tapes."
But I don't know if the White House records all of the president's phone calls. After the Watergate scandal, where the tapes were evidence that could be subpoenaed, it could be very dangerous for a president to keep this kind of evidence.
But it doesn't really matter. The words Trump is reported to have said are totally believable to me. Wouldn't you agree?
Have a good day, LonePirate.

(343 posts)I still find it hard to believe that people actually voted for him. It was so obvious he was just a rich kid that would have been a used car salesman without dad's money and connections. And you want this asshole running the country? They did not like Hillary. So what? She wanted the job and was qualified to do it. Instead, we got "I'm bringing back coal" guy. I really think America would not be in this mess if somebody, at some point in Trumps life, had kicked his ass. Instead, he gets away with anything. Sad.

What kind of douche nozzle tweets politically about his failure to extend decent condolences?
We shouldn't expect much, after all, he was going to sexually harass Kira Sedgwick after the death of her son, until he learned she was married to John Travolta.

Why I know this, not a clue.

(82,849 posts)Someone has to stand up for decency, and it's clearly not going to be the Republicans (except for one or two notable exceptions who are leaving office soon). I'm not willing to give President Trump a clear field, and will oppose his egregious utterances, even if you think it's "poor form" to do so. But thank you for your concern.

(51,698 posts)According to the daily presidential tracking poll from Rasmussen Reports, Trump has a 41 percent total approval rating and 58 percent total disapproval rating. This latest disapproval figure is Trump's highest since August 31.

The Republicans would love for us to shut up about it. No fucking way should we do that, unless Myeshia Johnson tells us to, and she is certainly not doing that. She was on TV yesterday ripping Trump a new one.

(51,698 posts)How is pointing out that Trump didn't call fallen soldiers' families "politicizing" their deaths?
How is it "political" to express outrage at Trump telling the pregnant grieving widow of a fallen soldier that he "knew what he was getting into"?
Damn it. I am sick of us letting Republicans walk all over us.

Our media let us down in not tearing him down as they wrongly attacked every Hilary move. Sucked in by the Russians and GOP manipulators.
And we have a near useless IC.

One of the few black Green Berets. Two little children, and one on the way, left behind. And Trump didn't even know his name. Shameful.
