Trump took full ownership of TRUMPCARE yesterday, why are Dems partially cleaning up his mess?

Trump's exact words (see video): "Obamacare is finished. It's dead. It's gone. It's no longer... you shouldn't even mention it, it's gone. There is no such thing as Obamacare anymore."

My local news was already featuring people who were about to be screwed by the "subsidy" stunt Trump pulled.

At some point, I guess the White House was flooded with calls from his fellow rethugs after he took FULL OWNERSHIP of the mess that was about to unfold with premium hikes, etc, so now he's back to calling it Obamacare. Why give him a chance to backtrack and go back to calling HIS mess "Obamacare"?

If elected democrats are not allowed to FULLY clean up the ACA, they should just let the rethugs OWN it! We can't let him screw up various parts of the ACA while still calling it "ObamaCare." And I say this as someone with the dreaded "pre-existing conditions."

1/ They will be backstabbed - like all others who deal with Trump.
2/ They are normalizing Trump.
3/ They will become Trump's scapegoat, even after he has betrayed them.
4/ Trump will do something else and then blame others.
5/ Trump will escape accountability.

I seriously doubt this deal will be better for America or the people most affected than letting Trump own it.

Mr. Alexander said that in addition to funding the payments to insurers, the deal would also give states “more flexibility in the variety of choices they can give to consumers,” which should appeal to Republican lawmakers eager to give states more say over health care.

The flexibility no doubt to create and sell cheap junk plans that don't cover mushy things likes maternal benefits, contraception (obviously), mental and substance abuse, pre-existing conditions, etc. And thus split the insurance market -- young, healthy, mostly male leave the ACA plans and buy into the cheap junk plans, leaving those with pre-existing conditions and other health issues in the ACA pool thus resulting in much higher ACA premiums.
