Honoring the troops with gestures is not a substitute for real policy actions

Instead of honoring troops killed in combat, why not remove them from the battlefield entirely and don't return them until a genuine threat to America's safety emerges.

Instead of standing for the national anthem at a football game, why not improve the overall health care system for returning veterans making good on an actual promise.

Real policy actions speak louder than gestures.
