Bill Clinton to headline EMILYs List gala

Bill Clinton to headline EMILY’s List gala

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/274318-bill-clinton-to-headline-emilys-list-awards-gala

Former President Bill Clinton is delivering the keynote address during EMILY's List's 31st annual dinner and awards gala.

“We are thrilled that President Bill Clinton will be able to speak to our community about the need for women’s leadership in 2016,” said Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILY’s List, in a statement Friday. "President Clinton has a long history of advocating for women in politics — from the top of the ticket down.”

...headlined by a man? I love bill WAY more than I even like that other guy but neither should be heading up a womens conference!

bin, what's your angle in pretending this irrelevant past event is somehow meaningful? You're kind of behind events also.

The Detroit gathering was being boycotted by virtually all prominent women leaders for good reason. And now faced with a huge disaster, THE ORGANIZERS ARE BACKPEDALING on their divisiveness, renegotiating and begging a few women with names to attend to save it. One or two are, for the sake of women, not the organizers.

And now it'll only be a smaller, totally needless disaster. I wouldn't attend if someone gave me plane and hotel tickets and seats up front.

I know what you're trying to make comparisons too, but it's really not the same thing.

Never mind it was a "keynote address"

But food.

There will be food vendors at the upcoming convention. Does that help? Or does it have to include a salad?

I'd try to force a tenuous, subjective similarity too if my sacred cow and biases depended on doing as such, regardless of of the petulance of whether you had a salad or not.

I probably need to step away from this thread right now, because it's clearly done with an intent to disrupt!

"This announcement sends the wrong message to women everywhere. We have reached out to the organizers of the Women's Convention directly to share our surprise and disappointment, and to offer our help to strengthen the program. We have more women leaders in elected office than ever before, and they are forcibly leading the resistance against Trump and his allies in Congress who are intent on attacking women. EMILY’s List is proud to have supported many of those women every step of the way, and we know that there is a tidal wave of rising stars coming behind them. The choice of Senator Sanders sends the wrong message."

We must have hit critical mass sometime right before Bernie was invited.
