I've intentionally discouraged RL friends and relatives from even following me for a reason... A friend discovered my twitter account recently and she was horrified -- Almost refused to believe it was me because it was so unlike my real-life self. Said twitter turned me into an evil vitriolic monster.

So perhaps I do need a brief moment of pause and contemplation... Maybe stop conflating online enemies with real enemies.

Kudos to the OP for owning up to being less than honorable online, heretofore. It takes a LOT of integrity to publically acknowledge poor behavior when you haven't been "caught" yet by your online community of choice.

If the people stepping forward in the video were heroes, does that mean I should denounce bigotry here in DU? Even if it's targeting a group of people who are not identified by ethnicity, gender, or religion?
